When we first moved to Southie, my 7 year old daughter and her grandmother and I stopped into Microplant studio on a whim. Julio, the owner, went out of his way to talk to my daughter, explain all the different plants, answer her and her grandmother’s many questions and simply introduce us to the kind of wonderful community we began to experience in Southie. We bought beautiful succulents for my husband and every year for Father’s Day our daughter asked to go back to ‘the plant store’ to visit Julio and find a special gift for her daddy. Thank you, Julio, for being kind, welcoming and sharing your passion with the Southie community!

We used to be neighbors with Julio and Micro Plant at our original Bay State PT location (iykyk, but 2018 if you forgot). I remember how excited we were when he moved in! We decorated our office with his succulents and I bought my grandmother a plant in a 3D printed vase - she still talks about it to this day (technology gets her every time). He is an incredible person and asset to this community. Amazing selection that I miss being so close to. We are lucky to have you still in Southie!

I absolutely LOVE this place - everyone should go here for houseplants and beautiful bouquets! I got my mom a bouquet from here that was absolutely stunning, and it made her tear up when she saw how gorgeous it was! This is a woman who loves her flowers and often gets bouquets and she said this was probably the most beautiful one she had ever seen, and I agreed! Julio is super knowledgeable about all of the house plants and flowers he sells and it makes me so happy that I have a place where I can go for any of my house plant questions and I know I’ll get the best answers. I also love chatting with Julio - can’t recommend enough. I recently moved to Boston and I have been an owner of house plants for many years, I’ve been to my fair share of plant shops, so I was super excited to find Micro Plant Studio. I can honestly say Julio’s is easily one of the BEST plant shops I’ve ever been to!

My boyfriend got me a bouquet from Micro Plant Studio for my graduation (unfortunately not fully captured in this picture), and it was beyond gorgeous. He apparently gave Julio a very vague color scheme request, as boyfriends often do, and Julio absolutely delivered. It genuinely made my graduation feel even more special. Thank you!

Prior to arranging an in-home consultation with Julio in December 2024, I had only ever possessed a snake plant and bamboo, neither of which I was able to care for properly over the long term. Julio came to my condo and made suggestions for several different plant types, based on my preferences of locations, availability of natural light and ease of care. A couple of weeks later I visited his wonderful shop in Southie, where I was able to peruse is impressive selection of plants, as well as planters/containers. More than a year later, I am happy to report that the plants are all thriving, mostly in part to the very detailed care instructions Julio provided at initial purchase, but he has also been wonderful with additional care advice through occasional texts and a few visits to his shop. He truly cares about his customers, as well as his plants, obviously. I haven’t purchased any of his floral arrangements but I have seen them when I’m visiting the shop and they are also stunning. Julio is very talented, committed to his business and his clientele, as well as his community, and most importantly he’s simply a good human being. I cannot recommend Micro Plant Studio enough for any
